HOW IT STARTED

Bonjour! I’m Mikael, a French expatriate who has been living in Japan since 2014. Although I fell in love with Japanese food upon my stay, I found myself sometimes craving for some reminiscence of my past life habits in France: a spoon of pâté spread on a slice of fresh baguette, paired with a delicious Pinot Noir wine glass after a long day at work, or a stick of saucisson and some biscuits, bought quickly at the local supermarket for an unplanned picnic with friends.


Although finding french food in Japan is possible, it usually lacks the range and variety you would expect and it often takes to physically visit a store. Plus, In a busy country such as Japan where visiting an import shop is not always an option, only a handful of online - Japanese-only - solutions are available.


So, after a few years of struggle, I decided to tackle the problem head-on: With million delicious memories from numerous trips throughout France during my youth, and a 10 years’ experience in digital marketing and e-commerce, I decided to try and work on a solution by myself... in 2019, The Les Terroirs idea was born.
