Maison Brémond 1830


It is in 1830 that the Brémond family, who was a then a successful almond and spice importer, set up their delicatessen at the mythical Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence. They started offering delicious confections from Provence, notably the Calissons of Aix as well as rare spices or coffee making their shop a key venue in town until nowadays.



After the emblematic Cours Mirabeau boutique moved to rue d’Italie in 1986, where it is still located today, Maison Brémond was then taken over in 2015 by Olivier Baussan, the founder of L'Occitane store, where a new story began – that of a delicatessen committed to promoting Provençal and Mediterranean know-how, with the selection of local products, authentic, exceptional, and with unique tastes.



Today, they work closely with farmers to revive forgotten traditional crops and local handicrafts, alongside supporting projects that seek to protect the Provençale environment. for instance since 2019, they have been committed to the planting of chestnut and pistachio trees in agroforestry in Haute-Provence, helping to protect the crops, fight erosion, improve fertility and humidity. 

They also support the Ligue Protection des Oiseaux, helping to protect the Little Owl and the Iberian Grey Shrike, two declining species in Provence, as well as helping to preserve the lavender fields in Provence with regular donations to the Fonds de Sauvegarde de la Lavande. 



Since the first shop was opened in 1830 in Aix-en-Provence , there are now 13 Maison Brémond shops in France and 16 world-wide which offer a whole range of exceptional savoury and sweet products such as olive oils, balsamic vinegars, truffles, salty groceries, organic groceries and sweet groceries (jams and spreads).
